Wall Street

Full day:

Itinerary:
-Scramble to find an umbrella to combat the rain at 6:30 a.m.
-Train to ferry with Ben and his Aunt Barbara
-World Financial Center (including Winter Garden and Ground Zero)
-First subway experience to Times Square then got on the N to F.A.O. Schwartz next to Central Park
-A hunt for Ray's Pizza found us in a pricey shopping area (I resisted)
-Back to Times Square for some M&M and Hard Rock action
-Rush hour at Penn Station
-The nicest grocery store I've ever been to, located in Short Hills
-Amazing dessert: angel food cake (thanks to Barbara) and chocolate sauce (thanks to Ben...made from scratch from the recipe the chef used in a previous blog)
-SLEEP!

Tomorrow I get to sleep in. Only plans so far: Grey Gardens on Broadway!

New York

We have arrived in New Jersey (Short Hills to be exact). Jet lagged... I need to find a card reader for my camera so this blog contains Ben's photos. We took a 3 hour tour (cruise) around Manhattan, ate lunch in Times Square, and went to the top of the Empire State Building. Tomorrow is the Financial District (bird's eye view of Ground Zero), the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and either Chinatown or Little Italy (or both).

Here are pictures of the Financial District and the Statue of Liberty from the water. Ben's camera only had 5 minutes of battery left before it died. Hahaha...

Last Day at Glion

We started off the day with finals, finished by noon and then decided to go into town. The Jazz Festival was relaxing and we finally got to eat some crepes. We returned in time for our Farewell BBQ. There was a nice slide show and I ended up winning the Best Picture contest with a picture I took from the tower of the Chateau. We played a final game of Carcassone (a German board game) with our new friends (I hope we get to play again some time in the future...) then finished packing. This trip was amazing and I am going to miss our Program Assistants, my roommate Kristen, and our new friends. Our cab picks us up at 3:30 a.m. so I am trying to stay awake long enough to get on the train to Geneva. I am VERY excited for adventures in New York!
